Though we have met only once in Colombo, Sri Lanka, memories of our beautiful meeting vividly lingers in my mind. I especially love the ceramic pieces which are so different from other artwork. Her creativity is amazing and she had incredible technique. Her work is truly beautiful.

A great creative skill. Monica's talent should never be lost to those who knew her and an exhibition and brochure would highlight her creativity to a wider audience and become a powerful legacy to a wonderful lady.

With loving thoughts and memories, you are missed and not forgotten. I was there in Edinburgh the evening you and Colin met. It was 1989, if my memory serves me well. I didn't know about that activity of Monica.
Both paintings and ceramics are fantastic. Very expressive, especially the figures; they almost "talk" to you. Besides, in each work, every detail is extraordinary.

This website is a wonderful; tribute and memory of our good friend Monica. We remember with great pleasure Monica's kindness and hospitality when we stayed with her and Colin in Sighisoara and were privileged to be given a personal viewing of her Romanian studio and an explanation of the inspiration behind some of her artwork. RIP, never forgotten.

Inspiring and thought provoking. She was highly intuitive in her work process and, although she didn't like to explain the thoughts and ideas behind each piece, I always found the work was both deeply intelectual and touching on an emotional level. What more can one demand of an art piece?

I never had the privilege to meet this lady. I entered her house and had a sense that it is a special place. There is warmth in the array of her art. An eclectic range from her soul and crafted with her unique talent. Paintings, sculptures, decorations show this artists character and passion and unique skills. They are here for eternity, like her spirit in these magnificent works of art that should be shown to the world. Her family are the current custodians of these pieces but they will pass down the generations to be savoured by her descendants and people who love the achievements, the achievements of a genius. That is Monica Maclean.
